Here I used a flash on a shoe cord to light the subject from the side and create a harsh contracting shadow. I photographed the subject from a low angle and used a short depth of field to add interest to the frame. I chose to express risk by photographing some poker chips and cards, as when I consider this concept I immediately think about gambling and playing game of chance. I made the image black and white to represent the nature of poker, which is you either get the higher hand and win (white) or you do not and loose (black). I had difficulties focusing in this frame as I shot it in low lit settings, so it could be sharper in places.
